All the half-days of the visit are punctuated with a guided tour and free time to continue your discovery, either to go shopping for your family, close friends and even you.
French Tour
What could be more natural when we really want to discover France and to become soaked with the atmosphere than to travel on a boat where your crew is French but speaks several languages. It is the case with us, our crew is French, our chef has made his experiences in different starred restaurants, so he offers a gourmet and inventive cuisine, he has had some training in Paris to improve his knowledge and his technique. Moreover, he invites you gladly to cook and will give you some advice and some ” chef secrets”.

Provence and the Camargue
Provence is one of the world’s leading tourist destinations. The wealth of its heritage, witness to 26 Centuries of history, combined with the diversity of its exceptional natural sites make Provence a favorite destination. The region is crossed by the noble and powerful Rhone, and the Canal du Rhône à Sète is delivered with charm and authenticity. You will be seduced by the diversity and contrast of the landscapes encountered. It is an area steeped in history, customs, traditions, gastronomy. There is the vineyard that extends from the Rhone coast to the wine of sands, whose great wines have largely crossed our borders. There are olive groves, a symbol of peace and wisdom; the olive tree has shaped the landscape here but also the identity of the region. There is the diversity of landscapes that Van Gogh and Cézanne have immortalized, There are cities of art and history that invite you on a journey back in time: Arles, Les Baux de Provence, Avignon, classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The Camargue, troubled by its landscapes, kingdom of birds, bulls and wild horses. One of the largest nature reserves in France, land of charm and mystery. The Regional Natural Park of Camargue is located on the edge of the Mediterranean, inside the delta of the Rhone, mainly between the two arms of the river. It covers 3 communes: part of the municipality of Arles and Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhone and all the commune of Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer. There are markets with intoxicating perfumes, local products of exception, Provençal gastronomy that inspires the greatest starred chefs.

The excursions were excellent. I really appreciated having professional tour guides. All but one were easy to understand; all were knowledgeable and receptive to questions. All the cabins on the boat, although configured differently, were all equally decorated and comfortable. The service on the boat was wonderful. Everyone was kind and absolutely delightful to be around. We felt as though we were with family. Every meal was a delight for all the senses. Our excursions were designed to enhance our appreciation and understanding of the region. But as active as we were, we never felt pressured or exhausted. The high points were: the staff and owner - wonderful people. The boat is very nicely designed. Less formal than other barges we've been on, which was nice (very relaxing). High points were: walking all over the Pont du Gard, all the meals on board, Jim's cooking lessons, Chateauneuf, the Camargue ranch. The weather was ideal (not hot nor cold), the region was a favorite of ours, and we were looking forward to this trip for a year. It could have not gone better. Highly recommend this trip.

It was the highlight of our 4 1/2 weeks in southern France and NE Spain. We have always been independent travelers, non-tour, so weren't sure how we would like it. But it exceeded all our expectations. All our needs and wishes were met and exceeded. Every single member of the crew was unfailingly and sincerely pleasant, good at his/her job, and went above and beyond the call of duty. Michel's knowledge of the area and how to get things done there is amazing. The meals and wines were incredible. It was so fun to know that what we were eating and drinking was local to our mooring area. The Camargue is an area we had never visited as it's not easy to see it by public transportation. This was the perfect way to do it. It was not a busy route, so was tranquil, relaxing, and very beautiful. The locks, bridges, and water birds all added to the enjoyment.

We had a wonderful trip. The boat was immaculate, the food tasty and ample, the service impeccable, the tours interesting and informative. The high points were 'Foie gras night', swimming next to the Pont du Gard, Les Baux (a medieval town/fortress). Really, it is hard to pick one or two things. My husband enjoyed the lovely tour guide in the Papal Palace at Avignon quietly demonstrating the acoustics of the chapel by singing the Agnus Dei in her silvery voice. Others loved the ranch and its owners, right out of central casting.
